duck16 is a multi-channel high-end data logger. This innovative system was developed to record measured vibration signals with high sampling rates at high resolution (up to 102 kHz, 24 bit). No matter whether vibration-, temperature- or rev-sensors, microphones or miscellaneous tachometer generators, the signals are connected directly to duck16, sampled synchronously and recorded in real-time on the internal storage medium. This data is available to the test engineer in the prevalent standardised file formats for direct offline analysis.
Significant emphasis was placed on ensuring that all data is recorded with its respective physical unit (acceleration in g, temperature in °C or °F etc.) Complicated conversions of the units are a thing of the past. duck16 data is of course compatible with other common systems such as DIAdem and MATLAB, as well as sound processing software such as WaveLab.
Futhermore a corresponding software package guarantees that all measurement data can be visualised and analysed quickly and easily per drag & drop.
Tests with engines and transmissions abide by their own laws. In the run-up to the test it is not evident which component is the weakest link in the chain and will end the test through wear or tear. The duration of the test can almost never be determined exactly. This is directly contrary to your task of generating as much high quality and usable data as possible from the test. Especially in the event of damage. duck16 was developed specifically for this purpose as a powerful tool for vibration analysis. The raw data recorded of the vibrations, revs, torque, temperature and any other measurement required allow a detailed view while testing “into” the test equipment for the evaluation of the test. Events that lead to damage can be made transparent and revealed. This is independent of whether you could foresee the individual course your long-term test would take or not. duck16 cannot determine the behaviour of the prototype under test but together with duck 16 you can decode its messages. Simple, reliable, transparent and effective.
